Great post. Pursuing a career in witring for the money is just nutty. It is, and always should be, a labor of love. And for good reason: If I ever sat down and calculated the number of hours I worked on my book and divided it by the amount I was paid for it, I just might contemplate the comparatively lucrative career of picking tomatoes.
everyone here talks about their favorite, but in my opinoin they were all evenly good. i call them the big 4. good bad and the ugly, josie wales, fistfull of dollars and a few dollars more. nothing very different about them, similar story lines, bad guys and good guys, shooting, trying to make money, the musicetc. its the man that made the movie. what set eastwood apart was his look. his rugged appearance, toughness, intimidation, his height, credibility, that stare down. he never spoke much. didnt have to. He just had to look the part and let his actions speak for himself. he is in the top 3 of the greatest actors of all time and greatest westerns ever made by far.
